Double A’s Favourite Football Shirts

As today is his last day working with us here at Retro Football Kits, we have asked Double A to pick his top 10 football shirts of all time. Here we go!!!

Manchester United 94/96 Home - May favourite ever Manchester United football shirt. Beautifully worn by my favourite ever football players. Screams playing football all day in Delemere Park!

Ajax 1995/96 Away - The first ever non-United shirt I ever owned. The deep green and ginormous Ajax logo sublimated into the shirt is a winner. Let us not forget the classic ‘ABN-AMRO’ sponsor.

Jamaica 1998/01 Home - Having Jamaican heritage, seeing the Reggae Boyz play at the World Cup was an unreal feeling. I remember hinting to my Dad how much I wanted this shirt on several occasions. He never took any of them.

Inter Milan 96/97 Third - I could have had a list of shirts tht R9 wore during his career but this one for me is up there. Made famous for his unreal performance in the UEFA Cup final against Parma. O Fenômeno indeed.

Manchester United 92/93 Away - Another shirt with a huge sublimated crest. Maybe I’ve found my niche. The number one shirt in my collection as I have it signed by my idol, King Eric.

Juventus 1997/98 Centenary - During the 90s I remember United having some great battles against Juventus and they are a club I have an affinity for. Their kits during that period were out of this world. The centenary pink shirt is the pick of the bunch for me. Bold and beautiful.

Ireland 94/96 Away - Enthusiastically bought for me by my Irish Granny as I was supporting Ireland during the 1994 World Cup. I remember it most for John Aldrige screaming at a fourth official for not allowing him to get on the pitch.

Barcelona 95/97 Away - The second appearance for an R9 shirt and what a shirt it is. Kappa and Barcelona had something special going on during the 1990s and this colour and pattern combination was fantastic. Additionally, Ronaldo took the football world by storm in his one season at the Camp Nou.

Manchester United 23/24 Third - When I say I think this is possibly United’s best-ever football shirt, I REALLY mean it. The first time United have used a simplified crest and I am here for it. Plus, the greatest midfielder of all time, Kobbie Mainoo has worn it.

Brazil 94/96 Home - The reason I support Brazil is because they won their fourth World Cup in this shirt. The fact I have it with the Ronaldinho (R9) name set as well, adds to how unreal this shirt is. Joga Bola!
